Action Learning Systems (ALS) is a growing California-based educational consulting company. ALS is dedicated to creating continuous improvement of student performance and providing support to schools and districts to ensure that all students succeed in reaching academic standards set by the California State Board of Education. Strategy Coach (High School Math)

Locations:
Monrovia, CA
West Sacramento, CA

Description:
Responsible for delivery of professional development of standards-based lessons; research-based instructional strategies; and educational best practices to secondary (grades 6 to 12) math teachers.

Duties include presenting professional development to a variety of group sizes (from one-on-one to over 75); delivering in-classroom demonstration lessons to all types of students; co-planning lessons with teachers; co-teaching lessons with teachers; and conducting meetings.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience teaching secondary mathematics (must include experience with Geometry and Algebra II); California Teaching Credential; presentation experience at school site or conferences preferred.

5+ years of experience teaching elementary English/Language Arts (must include experience with at least two of the elementary grades); California Teaching Credential; presentation experience at school site or conferences preferred.

Principal Coach and Professional Development Trainer

The Positions:
  • Provide coaching to school principals and their leadership teams in Southern California
  • Provide professional development to leadership teams and schools (essential program components from CDE/SAIT)
  • Demonstrate/model leadership skills and practices to principals
  • Model data-driven decision making
  • Active and productive participant in company’s team of professionals
Qualifications:
  • California Administrative Services Credential
  • At least 5+ years teaching experience in K-12 schools
  • At least 5+ years principal experience in K-12 schools
  • Supervision experience with California state adopted instructional material
  • Experience with California content standards implementation
  • Experience with research-based strategy instruction
  • Knowledge of operational strategies to provide intensive and strategic intervention and extended learning opportunities
  • Experience with school reform components
  • Experience in the delivery of professional development
  • Portfolio of data that shares significant academic growth of schools with which you have worked
